With over 30 years of experience, John is a seasoned APAC regional business leader and a sales & business development professional in the areas of IT, cybersecurity and secure Identification. 

Technically trained, John started his career with hands-on experience in numerous projects like Hospital Information System(HIS) in HK, PKI CA project in Macau, Golden Card Project and Social Security Project in China. The successful delivery of these projects has allowed him to progress his career from system engineer to sales & business development professional, and eventually an executive leader where he coached and led teams to deliver business results. Prior to his mission in the Motion Asia, John was the regional VP of nCipher Security Limited in APAC(previously a Thales Group company).    

John’s expertise spans in multiple industries, in HIS, smart card, secure ID document, biometrics, anti-counterfeiting technology, cybersecurity and cryptographic data protection. Such expertise had allowed him to deliver projects in many national security related domains like passport, national ID, national healthcare and social security, driver’s license, Government confidential communication and digital certificate management for hospital authorities, which were implemented in various countries in Asia.

 While some of these businesses were directly built by him, many of them were created through John’s teams under his leadership. With dedication and commitment, John has built business in new industries and grown consistently for his organizations. The achievement was a result of being the trusted advisor of the customers.    

In all the projects that John and his teams delivered, knowledge and skill transfer has been a key part of success. Knowledge management is a critical element of a project and ultimately the entire organization’s effectiveness. With a passion of utilizing the accumulated expertise, John is now a key member of the Motion Asia Team advising customers and partners on the right journey in becoming the best practice of a learning organization.
